Revolutionizing Men’s Health Care in Northeast Georgia with Innovative Treatments for Enlarged Prostates
Northeast Medical Center and Georgia Urology have achieved a significant breakthrough in expanding the treatment options for men’s healthcare in Northeast Georgia by performing the first Aquablation procedure at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, Georgia. Aquablation is an innovative treatment for an enlarged prostate, a condition that affects millions of men worldwide. The procedure was the result of a collaborative effort, led by Drs. Sharpe and Fisher from Georgia Urology and Dr. Stanley from Northeast Medical Center (pictured below, right to left), and represents a big step in revolutionizing men’s health and expanding access to innovative care in Northeast Georgia.
Understanding Enlarged Prostates, or Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Benign prostatic hyperplasia, commonly known as BPH, is a condition that affects millions of men worldwide. As men age, the prostate gland tends to enlarge, causing bothersome urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, weak urine flow, and incomplete bladder emptying. BPH can have a significant impact on a man’s quality of life, affecting his sleep patterns, daily activities, and overall well-being.
Revolutionizing Prostate Treatment: Fortunately, BPH is highly treatable, and advancements in medical technology have introduced new procedures such as Aquablation therapy to alleviate the burden faced by men dealing with this condition. Aquablation therapy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that aims to relieve problems with urination caused by an enlarged prostate’s excess tissue that blocks urine flow. Aquablation therapy accomplishes this by using water jet technology to remove the excess tissue from an enlarged prostate without making any incisions. This reduces bleeding and allows for a quicker recovery compared to traditional surgical approaches.
Experts In Aquablation: Georgia Urology has performed over 1,000 Aquablation therapy procedures, more than any other urology practice in the United States.
Investing in Men’s Health: Northeast Medical Center’s investment in the AquaBeam Robotic System for Aquablation therapy continues to lead the way in men’s health care by providing access to state-of-the-art solutions close to home for Northeast Georgia patients.
