Dr. Joseph Song is a Georgia native who attended Emory University on a full Robert W. Woodruff Scholarship before graduating summa cum laude with a degree in biology. He then received a full William A. Peck Scholarship to attend Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, where he stayed on to complete his Urology residency.
In addition to receiving numerous awards and recognitions, including the American Urologic Association’s 2013 Prize Abstract Award and the World Congress in Endourology’s 2015 Best Paper Award, he has published 18 articles and book chapters as well as presented 12 abstracts and podiums. His research interests include urologic cancers, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), erectile dysfunction (ED), and kidney stone disease. His research interests include engineering in urology and lowering readmission after surgery.
Dr. Song has staff privileges at Northside Duluth and Northside Gwinnett Hospitals.
In his spare time, Dr. Song enjoys dabbling in astronomy, aquascaping, woodworking, gardening, and cooking. Occasionally, he plays the violin. He and his wife, whom he met at Duluth High, have two children, as well as a chihuahua spaniel. Dr. Song practices near the area where he grew up at Georgia Urology’s Duluth and NAUA Lawrenceville locations.
