Dr. Ajay Gopalakrishna is a highly trained urologist who joined Georgia Urology in 2025 from NGPG Urology. A Michigan native, Dr. Gopalakrishna grew up in the Detroit suburbs and completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University in Detroit. He earned his medical degree at Duke University in North Carolina before pursuing residency training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He further honed his expertise in robotic surgery during a fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Professionally, Dr. Gopalakrishna is passionate about providing comprehensive and leading-edge urologic care. His surgical expertise includes managing conditions such as kidney stones, enlarged prostate, overactive bladder, and urologic cancers, including bladder, kidney, and prostate. He performs complex procedures such as kidney and prostate removal, leveraging minimally invasive techniques to improve patient outcomes. He further specializes in surgeries for enlarged prostates, enjoying the significant quality-of-life improvements they offer with a low-risk profile. As part of Georgia Urology, he looks forward to collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals to provide patients with the full spectrum of care and elevate the standard of treatment in the community.

Dr. Gopalakrishna moved to Georgia in 2023 and enjoys the area. He hikes in the northern mountains, plays soccer, lifts weights, and travels with his wife.
