The following guidelines are suggested for the day before and the day after treatment.
- Avoid alcohol, coffee, and other caffeinated beverages 24-48 hours prior to the procedure.
- There is no need to fast prior to the treatment.
- Continue taking all routine prescription medications.
- Please discuss with your physician if you are taking a blood thinning medication or aspirin, as some of these medications may need to be stopped prior to the procedure. Some may require medical clearance from your prescribing physician prior to stopping.
- If you are given a prescription for antibiotics, please follow the written instructions.
- Plan to arrive at the office about 30 minutes before the procedure or as instructed by the office. This will allow enough time to prepare for the treatment, including pre-treatment medication, as needed, to help relax.
- If you will be receiving nitrous oxide (ProNox), you do not require a driver.
- If you were given a prescription for Valium, you. Please remember to fill your prescription before arriving at the office. However, do NOT take it until signing in on the day of your visit. You will need a driver.
